The Art of Matching: How Do I Choose a Puppy for Your Family?
Choosing an Australian Labradoodle puppy is not an ordinary transaction - it is a process that begins with our relationship. Before I choose a dog that will become part of your life, we need to get to know each other well.
A meeting that says more than a thousand words
I invite every family for a personal visit to my home. This is the time when the roles are reversed: you get to know our dogs and ask questions, and I observe your dynamics, temperament and way of being.
No questionnaire or telephone conversation will replace "live" observation. I see how you react to dogs and how they feel in your company. I believe that for Polish families, distance is not a barrier when it comes to having a friend for several years. In exceptional situations (mainly for families from abroad), I use video calls to get to know everyone in the household, at least virtually.
49 days of observation and temperament tests
My work with puppies begins with their first breath, but this 49th day of life is crucial. This is when I conduct formal temperament tests. They are important, but I treat them as confirmation of my previous seven-week observations.
Why is observation more important than the test itself? A puppy, just like a human, can have a bad day. You may be overslept, full or simply tired, which affects the result. That's why I combine hard test data with my everyday knowledge about each littermate.
Coffee, analysis and difficult decisions
Once I have all the information, it's time for deep analysis. With the test results and notes about the families, I start working on the "puzzle". Sometimes the matching process takes several days - I have to look at the litter globally while taking care of the individual needs of each family.
- Temperament over color: Questions are often asked about gender or a specific shade of fur (and even the color of the nose!). Of course, I take these preferences into account, but I always emphasize: the dog's character is a priority. If you are looking for a specific look and the temperament of a puppy with this look does not fit your lifestyle at all, I will suggest a different solution or ask for patience until the next litter.
- The foundation is trust: The more you trust me when it comes to selecting the character, the happier the relationship you will build with your dog in the future.
Final decision
After completing the analysis, each family receives a proposal for a specific puppy from me. This is an invitation to join us on our journey, which you can of course refuse. Nothing is forced - both parties must be sure that this is "the one" dog.
